VOC Testing A large variety of parts and materials are used in the interior of a car, creating a whole living environment. The VOC test was developed to reduce VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), which may be produced by the materials used. VOC's produced inside a car are a primary cause of the so-called Sick House Syndrome negatively affecting the interior air quality. Although testing can be performed on the individual parts, complete vehicle testing is far more effective. This approach allows the components under investigation, such as interior panels, to be tested in the actual environment under simulated environmental conditions. EYE / Iwasaki solar simulation systems provide the best solution available Iwasaki proprietary lamps meet the requirements of the EPA SC03 standard for spectral energy distribution. Unlike halogen filament based heat lamps, application specific metal halide lamp technology simulates the actual sunlight environment. The insolation can be set and controlled between 600 and 1,200W/m2. The insolation uniformity ratio fully meets the EPA standard of ±15%.
