VOC Testing A large variety of parts and materials are used in the interior of a car, creating a whole living environment. The VOC test was developed to reduce VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), which may be produced by the materials used. VOC's produced inside a car are a primary cause of the so-called Sick House Syndrome negatively affecting the interior air quality. Although testing can be performed on the individual parts, complete vehicle testing is far more effective. This approach allows the components under investigation, such as interior panels, to be tested in the actual environment under simulated environmental conditions. Car manufacturers have set the maximum limit for VOC levels and are working to reduce it.  | This large-capacity test chamber can accommodate a full size passenger car. EYE / Iwasaki solar simulation systems provide the best solution available Select the lighting source best for the particular test requirements; full spectrum solar HID or high intensity IR heating. Iwasaki proprietary lighting systems meet EPA / ASTM / IEC / JIS requirements for solar spectral energy distribution testing. The system radiation intensity can be set and automatically controlled from 400 and 1,200W/m2. Choose from economical "standard" systems to fully customized computer controlled systems. It has complete emission test capability and can run the SC03 procedure under a continuous solar heat load per EPA spectral and uniformity requirements. The solar system radiation intensity is computer controlled and pre-assigned groups of lamps can be turned on/off to create custom illumination patterns. |
EYE / Iwasaki solar simulation systems provide the best solution available Iwasaki proprietary lamps meet the requirements of the EPA SC03 standard for spectral energy distribution. Unlike halogen filament based heat lamps, application specific metal halide lamp technology simulates the actual sunlight environment. The insolation can be set and controlled between 600 and 1,200W/m2. The insolation uniformity ratio fully meets the EPA standard of ±15%.
